I know one utility program which is SysTool. It is an all round tweak and overclocking utility which can offer features like Motherboard Monitoring, ATI Video Card Overclocking, NVIDIA Video Card Overclocking, ,HDD Acoustic Management, can alterchipset memory timings for i855/i848/i865/i875/i915/i925/i945/i955 and AMD64 also CPU FSB (includes ABIT uGuru).Enhanced Intel Speed Step Control
I am working currently with my Q6600 at 3ghz (333x9) using EasyTune5 a 965 board (Gigabyte DS3P).Because of some odd reason, my bios can't boot at even (267x9) and auto recovers to defaults.i just need to get my fsb from 266 to 333 each time windows starts. So just curious which software is suitable for this purpose since I find EasyTune 5 a bit bloated.
Yes of course overclocking through the  cheap insanity workout (http://www.cheapp90x.org) BIOS is the best method to make things flawless. Overclocking software won't do anything that your BIOS won't do. My advice would be to probe at some overclocking literature to see how it is done in good way. Just because you are with software to do it, that doesn't take away any of the risk. Actually, that just makes it easier to hurt something on your computer
If you can overclock from windows but not from bios. Then one of two things are happening. You are not properly overclocking in bios.  insanity workout dvds (http://www.cheapp90x.org) And the software is making some alternations other than just upping the FSB.and the other thing is that your computer is not stable which is causing it not to boot.
Have you ran stability tests after overclocking in windows.Genuinely I use my bios. It's been completely reliable thus far. Why use anything else when  Zumba (http://www.cheapp90x.org/zumba-c-2.html) something is working perfectly to begin with
I used Clockgen back when I had an AMD, and it should take most older Intel Core and Core2 chipsets as well.
Since I have an E8400 on a motherboard with a P35 chipset today, I use SysTool to Overclock between tests.
Using this method, i've had my E8400 at 4 GHz for short spans of time (the CPU become quite hot at that speed, about 60 degrees C),
Some BIOS settings can interfere with overclocking, also try to  Brazil Butt Lift dvd (http://www.cheapp90x.org/brazil-butt-lift-dvd-p-5.html) clock your RAM down to a lower speed or give them  Beachbody (http://www.cheapp90x.org/beachbody-c-1.html) looser timings  cheap insanity workout dvds (http://www.cheapp90x.org) to see if it's your RAM that is un-overclockable.
The best you can do is try to update your BIOS to the latest version. This might fix your problem. What software do you overclock with Intel
