" In the October elections,UDAR won more than 13 percent of the seats in Parliament. When asked how boxing prepared him for the political arena,Klitschko is clear: "Success in any sport requires concentration, training, determination and talent. Sports gave me the will to win,the ability to make quick decisions,to realize their full potential. These qualities are very important in politics."Klitschko added,"In the ring they call me Dr. Ironfist. Perhaps some expected me to begin my parliamentary career by bashing heads, literally. However,I said early on that my style in politics will be focused on the battle for ideas that lead to changes in Ukraine."Though the champion has so far remained quiet about his political future, there is serious speculation that he might run for mayor of Kiev or even for president in 2015.
If you compare the direction in a film like?Argo?with that of?Zero Dark Thirty, another geopolitical thriller,it’s not in the same league. Kathryn Bigelow deserves this award for?Zero Dark Thirty. She managed to compress the hunt for Osama bin Laden into a riveting 160-minute picture. But alas the Academy,in true political?fashion, didn’t nominate her because of the film’s touchy subject matter. So,of the nominees,Michael Haneke deserves the award for his understated and masterful direction in?Amour. But the Oscar will probably go to Spielberg for?Lincoln?in what will be another picture/director split,a la?Shakespeare in Love?and?Saving Private Ryan?at the ’99 ceremony.Who should win:?Michael Haneke,?AmourWho will win:?Steven Spielberg,?LincolnBest Actor Ramin:?Daniel Day-Lewis will win for his performance as a Madame Tussauds wax figure in?Lincoln.
Norquist rejects the much-quoted exit poll results from the Nov. 6 election suggesting that 60 percent of the voters agree with the president that taxes must be raised on the rich. Instead,he argues that the more relevant statistic is the 63 percent who said taxes shouldn't be increased to help reduce the deficit. "Am I concerned that the American people want their taxes raised?" he asks himself. "No,I'm not concerned about that."But why not take Obama's suggestion to extend the tax cuts for the 98 percent ASAP and haggle over the remaining 2 percent afterward?"Counteroffer: why don't we extend them for everybody and then haggle over taking them away from the top 2 percent?" Norquist parries.
The police didn’t care about the gun. They actually told me this creep would let all his criminal friends know about the guy with a gun in that house,so I would likely never have another problem. I lived there five more years and never did. I’ve been a member of the National Rifle Association almost all my life. So I should be a poster child for the NRA. But gun violence is epidemic in America. Children are slaughtered while a small but vocal minority shouts about "freedom" and hides behind a skewed interpretation of the Second Amendment. There is also a hefty dose of Big Brother paranoia, backed up by the millions of dollars and political muscle of the NRA.So let’s be clear: first, nobody is going to take our guns away.

Three bills introduced in 2011 "would have severely constricted early voting" in the state, says Tokaji.Obama for America sued Ohio, claiming that limits on early voting—which is widely considered beneficial to Obama in the 2008 election—violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution. The Sixth Circuit Court ruled in favor of Obama, and early voting has been restored across the state, including the Saturday,Sunday, and Monday before Election Day.Ohio’s provisional ballot rules have been largely but not entirely resolved. In late August,a federal judge halted the state’s so-called right church, wrong pew law, which mandated that provisional votes mistakenly cast in the wrong precinct can be discounted.
Of course, even if you have chosen a hacker-proof password, kate spade bags (http://www.cnnhkids.com/),taken your chats off the record, and encrypted your emails, the government or police may still be able to snoop through your account if given probable cause to obtain a warrant. Getting a warrant to search someone's email—legally considered a form of communication—is like getting permission to tap a phone line, which,as any good Wire fan knows,is no easy task. Still,if you do or say something suspicious enough to get the fuzz's attention, chances are your Internet history will soon be up for grabs.According to the Google Blog's Transparency Report, government surveillance of private email is on the rise. From July through December of 2009,Google received 12,539 requests to access email accounts from government agencies worldwide.

The plan calls for a building of the China brand through international dialogue, cultural exchange, and cultural aid. Libraries, media centers and information services are to be established internationally. The trade of cultural goods is to be promoted. Investment in the well-known Confucius Institutes, which teach Chinese language and culture to foreigners, will continue to grow; there are now over 858 Confucius Institute facilities worldwide, including 81 institutes and 299 classrooms in the United States. It is certainly true that various barriers to creativity caused by a bureaucratic mindset within the state sector do exist. Additionally, the routine theft of intellectual property lowers the reward for creativity, and it probably dampens the enthusiasm to invent when the opportunities to skim money in corrupt transactions are so common.
