May 18 (Reuters) - Cricket Australia is to investigate an extraordinary Twitter outburst by opening batsmen David Warner that attacked two senior Australian cricket journalists.
The 26-year-old Warner criticised News Limited journalists Robert Craddock and Malcolm Conn in an expletive-filled tirade,Versace Sunglasses, which has created headlines in Australia.
"Cricket Australia is aware of comments made on David Warner's Twitter account overnight,Versace Sunglasses," Cricket Australia said in a statement on Saturday.
"Cricket Australia is attempting to contact Warner and will continue to investigate the matter.
"Cricket Australia will make further comment once it has conducted a thorough investigation,Oakley Sunglasses."
It was unclear whether Warner's Twitter account had been hacked.
Several other high-profile Twitter accounts have been hacked in recent weeks, including some run by media organisations the Financial Times, the Guardian and the BBC.
News Limited, however, reported that Cricket Australia had contacted Conn to apologise for the tweets.
"I know that Cricket Australia aren't very happy with the language he's used to express himself this morning," Conn was reported on News Limited's website (www.news.com.au) as telling a Melbourne radio station.
"Cricket Australia have touched base with me and apologised and said that it was inappropriate and they'll be taking action."
Several Australian media organisations' websites published Warner's tweets in which he took issue with a story by Craddock before he embarked on a running battle with Conn, who had come to the defence of his colleague. (Reporting by Greg Stutchbury in Wellington; Editing by Patrick Johnston)

Major League Baseball owners wrapped up their two-day meetings this morning, and the expanded use of instant replay was among the topics discussed.

But it appears little progress was made in terms of implementation. And that news comes amid a in recent weeks that have only fueled the demand for a system that can ensure the correct calls are made,Black Leather Shoes.

 MLB DISCIPLINE:
There had been hope that more replay would be in place by the start of this season, though obviously wasn’t the case. And then there were near-promises that such a system would be ready for the 2014 season. But now even that seems to be in question.
"Time will tell,Gucci Leather Shoes," commissioner Bud Selig, . "The more issues they raise, the more complex it gets. I'm not going to make any predictions (about next year)."
 WITRADO:
However,Gucci Men Boots, it does seem to be a matter of when—not if—expanded use of instant replay will arrive. Executive vice president of baseball operations Joe Torre has headed a committee to study the options available and suggest the best plan to implement,Louis Vuitton Men Shoes, and he said everyone involved wants to make sure they get this right.
"We're not going to send something out there just to meet a deadline," Torre said, according to CBSSports.com. "We don't want to do a knee-jerk thing."
As of now, the only plays that can be reviewed are disputed home runs.

SENTINELA / Handbag Obama budget targets millionaires
« en: Mayo 03, 2013, 12:27:21 pm »
Watch VideoPlay Video

US President Barack Obama has unveiled a budget proposal to Congress, seeking a compromise with Republicans. It’s a spending and deficit reduction package designed to address America’s budgets for the next ten years.

The budget would sharply trim the U.S. deficit over three years by forcing millionaires to pay more in taxes and enacting spending cuts,Handbag. Obama’s fiscal 2014 budget blueprint ensures that those making 1 million US dollars a year or more would have to pay at least 30 percent of their income in taxes, after gifts to charity.

That increase, along with spending cuts and a 28 percent cap on tax deductions for high earners, would bring the U.S. budget deficit down to 2,Watches.8 percent of GDP by 2016 and 1,Clothes.7 percent by 2023. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office in February projected the U,Shoes.S. deficit to be 5.3 percent of GDP this year.

While some Democrats quickly called for more stringent gun laws,Prada Handbags, most Republicans initially were silent. And their virtual absence from the debate suggested that some Republicans who champion gun rights at least may have been reconsidering their stances against firearms restrictions, cute handbags.
By the Monday after the Connecticut shooting, MSNBC talk show host Joe Scarborough, a former Republican congressman from Florida, called for reinstating the ban on assault-style weapons, which he had opposed. The ban expired in 2004, despite support for the ban from Republican President George W. Bush. Referring to the shooting, Scarborough said: "I knew that day that the ideologies of my past career were no longer relevant to the future that I want, that I demand, for my children,Hermes Purse."
The next day, Grassley and Kingston were among the Republicans saying they were at least willing to discuss stronger gun laws,Alexander Wang Bags.
"The party is at a point where it wants to have those discussions in public, where people feel comfortable differing from what is perceived as the party orthodoxy," Republican consultant Dan Hazelwood said.
If silence is a signal, shifts on other issues could be coming, chief among them gay marriage, which the GOP base long has opposed. Exit polls found half of all Americans say same-sex marriage should be legally recognized,Miu Miu Handbags.
After three states C Washington, Maryland and Maine C voted to legalize gay marriage last month, the Republican leadership generally has remained quiet on the issue. And there has been no effort in the House or Senate to push major legislation, only narrower proposals, such as a move in the Armed Services Committee to bar gay marriages at military facilities.
But in a sign that the fight over gay marriage also may be waning within the GOP base, Newt Gingrich said it was time for Republicans to accept shifting public opinion.
The former House speaker, who oversaw passage of the Defense of Marriage Act in Congress and helped finance state campaigns to fight gay marriage in 2010, said in a Huffington Post interview that the party should work toward acceptance of rights for gay couples, while still distinguishing them from marriage.
"The momentum is clearly now in the direction in finding some way to . accommodate and deal with reality," Gingrich said.

Linux / Moncler jackets Worker dies in blender at Oregon meat plant
« en: Mayo 02, 2013, 04:17:37 am »
A worker at an Oregon meat-processing plant hit an emergency stop button when Hugo Avalos-Chanon fell into a running blender,Moncler jackets, but it was too late to save his life.

 — An Oregon cleaning worker was killed when he fell into a running blender at a meat-processing plant,Moncler Men Vest, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputy Nate Thompson identified the worker as Hugo Avalos-Chanon, 41, of Portland. He worked for DCS Sanitation Management, a cleaning company that has a contract with Interstate Meat Distributors.
Paramedics and sheriff's deputies were called around 11:45 p.m. Friday, after Avalos-Chanon was found entangled in the machinery. Another worker had hit an emergency stop button, but it was too late, Thompson said. Firefighters returned the following day to dismantle the machine and remove the body.
Dr. Cliff Young, a deputy state medical examiner, said Avalos-Chanon died from "blunt-force injuries and chopping wounds."
Thompson said investigators believe the death is a "tragic industrial accident" and do not suspect foul play.
Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are examining evidence, interviewing witnesses and reviewing records.
An OSHA report on the plant from last fall found machines were not locked during the tear-down process for cleaning. The inspector said an "unexpected startup of the machine" could cause injuries.
Melanie Mesaros, Oregon OSHA spokeswoman, cautioned against jumping to conclusions.
"It's way too early to say,&quot,Moncler Men Coats; Mesaros told . "We're just starting our investigation, which could take six months,Moncler Men Jackets."
Darrin Hoy, president of Interstate Meat Distributors, said company officials are cooperating fully with investigators, but Avalos-Chanon&#39,Moncler Women Vest;s death was "extremely unfortunate" and difficult to discuss.
"We're not looking forward to reliving through any of it again," Hoy said.
Mesaros said the agency inspected DCS Sanitation Management's operations in 2001, 2002 and 2004, finding no violations.

The Defense Intelligence Agency has concluded with "moderate confidence" that North Korea might have a nuclear weapon that's small enough to be placed on a ballistic missile. But the DIA also says that if that is the case,Versace Sunglasses, the reliability of the missile would be low.
The alarming assessment came as North Korea has been issuing threats that range from testing a new missile to nuclear war against the U.S. and South Korea.
It was made public near the end of a House Armed Services Committee in which Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey were testifying about the proposed Pentagon budget.
Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., asked Dempsey if he agreed with a recent classified DIA report that contained an unclassified section that said, "DIA assesses with moderate confidence the North currently has nuclear weapons capable of delivery by ballistic missiles. However, the reliability will be low." Dempsey eventually admitted he had not seen this report so he couldn't answer the congressman's question.
"Moderate confidence" is an intelligence term that signals plausibility. The 2007 National Intelligence Estimate on Iran's nuclear capabilities defined it as "generally [meaning] credibly sourced and plausible information, but not of sufficient quality or corroboration to warrant a higher level of confidence."
Tonight Director of National Intelligence James Clapper downplayed the DIA assessment, saying that "North Korea has not yet demonstrated the full range of capabilities necessary for a nuclear armed missile." He also emphasized that the assessment was not the intelligence community's assessment.
"I concur with the earlier Department of Defense statement that 'it would be inaccurate to suggest that the North Korean regime has fully developed and tested the kinds of nuclear weapons referenced in the passage.'"
The earlier statement that Clapper referenced was by Pentagon press secretary George Little,Oakley Sunglasses, who also said, "The United States continues to closely monitor the North Korean nuclear program and calls upon North Korea to honor its international obligations."
The DIA is one of 17 intelligence agencies in the federal government that independently do their own assessments on specific topics of interest. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) is tasked with developing a consensus intelligence assessment that helps policy makers make national security decisions. That can prove difficult when different agencies arrive at different conclusions on the same topic.
The assessment may have never been intended to be made public, said a U.S. official, adding that it may have been erroneously labeled as unclassified in what remains a mostly classified report. According to intelligence officials, such a key assessment is almost always listed as classified.
A spokesperson for Lamborn's office says the congressman had recently visited his committee's reading room to read the unclassified portion of the report called "Dynamic Threat Assessment 8099: North Korea Nuclear Weapons Program (March 2013)."
While Clapper may have been downplaying the DIA assessment, at an earlier Capitol Hill hearing today,Versace Sunglasses, he testified that "North Korea has already demonstrated capabilities that threaten the United States and the security environment in East Asia." He listed North Korea's nuclear test in February, their plan to restart the nuclear reactor in Yongbyon and last year's display of the KN-08 missile which he said "appears to be a road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile."
"We believe Pyongyang has already taken initial steps towards fielding this system, although it remains untested," he said. Last December's launch of a Taepodong 2 missile that placed a satellite in orbit demonstrated its long-range missile technology.
"These developments have been accompanied with extremely belligerent, aggressive public rhetoric towards the United States and South Korea. We continue to carefully monitor developments in anticipation of North Korea's next provocative step."
The world's attention has been drawn to what U.S. officials believe could be the imminent launch of a mid-range mobile ballistic missile called the Musudan. A U.S. official says possibly as many as two missiles have been located in the town of Wonsan along North Korea's eastern coast.
The official says a Musudan missile or missiles have been spotted being moved out of the shed on their launchers and then being set up upright into the firing position. The missile has then been spotted by American satellites being lowered into the horizontal position and moved back into the shed. This has happened more than once.
It is part of the reason why the U.S. can't fully ascertain that there are two missiles in the shed is that only one comes out at a time. The notion that there are two is because more gear than is necessary for one missile was spotted during the transport and possibly at the current location.
"They're teasing us," said a U.S. official. This same official offered the explanation that the repeated up and down of the loader into the firing position could be training on the part of the North Koreans to prepare for a launch on short notice.

Vb.net / Gucci Men Boots Brazil cuts taxes on smartphones
« en: Mayo 01, 2013, 04:04:09 am »
RIO DE JANEIRO, April 9 (Xinhua) -- In the latest of a series of tax cuts aimed at revving up the economy by boosting consumption and production, the government announced Tuesday it was doing away with the PIS/Cofins welfare tax on smartphones made in Brazil.

The tax waiver will be applied to smartphones that retail for less than 1,500 reals (750 U.S,Gucci Men Boots. dollars), which excludes high-end models such as the latest iPhones and Samsung Galaxy models, but includes most smartphones sold in Brazil.

Several companies that produce smartphones in Brazil, including Apple, Nokia, Samsung and Motorola, will benefit from the tax exemption.

Over the coming weeks, the government expects the price of Brazilian smartphones to fall as much as 30 percent, compared to their imported counterparts.

According to Communications Minister Paulo Bernardo, consumers will be able to buy smartphones at lower prices just in time for Mother's Day in early May.

With the move,Louis Vuitton Men Shoes, the government expects the number of smartphones sold in the country to grow from 65 million to 130 million by next year, thus increasing digital inclusion. Brazil currently has some 240 million active cellphone lines.

The tax cut is expected to save companies up to 500 million reals (250 million U.S. dollars) per year, starting in 2014.

Tax cuts have already been applied to cars,Black Leather Shoes, computers and domestic appliances like ovens and washing machines, though they haven't always worked as expected.

Last month, President Dilma Rousseff announced tax cuts to staple foods,Gucci Leather Shoes, but the prices of several products did not drop, and some actually rose.

Likewise, the price of tablet computers and Apple products made in Brazil did not fall as much as consumers expected following tax cuts.

The FBI today released images of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing the bureau still considers to be "armed and extremely dangerous."
At a press conference,True Religion Jeans For Men, FBI special agent in charge Richard DesLauriers referred to the two men as Suspect 1 and Suspect 2 and said Suspect 2 was spotted dropping a bag before a bomb exploded at the second bomb site. The two men appear to be "associated," DesLauriers said.
DesLauriers asked the public for their help identifying the suspects, but asked the public not to approach them,True Religion Jeans. Though the men are considered armed and dangerous, the FBI said they still do not believe there is an imminent danger in the area.
A few hours later, an FBI official cited a large volume of calls as a result of the photos and DesLauriers' appeal for help.
A source close to the investigation told ABC News authorities have "good confidence" that the men in the photos perpetrated the crime. The degree of confidence,True Religion Jeans For Women, the source said, comes from a "revealing" reaction Suspect 2 had to the detonation of the first bomb, which was captured on surveillance video.
Before that, the two are seen in surveillance video walking together before Suspect 2 stops at what would become the second blast site while Suspect 1 continues in the direction of the first blast site, the source said. A senior law enforcement official said one of the suspects is seen making a phone call around the time of the explosions, leading investigators to believe it may have triggered the blast. Investigators are trying to trace that call back to the phone used by the suspect.
"Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbors, co-workers, or family members..." DesLauriers said. "Though it might be difficult, the nation is counting on those with information to come forward and provide it to us."
"Identifying those responsible is now our highest priority," he said.
Three people were killed and more than 170 wounded in dual blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday. No group, foreign or domestic, has claimed responsibility.
Pictures Latest Major Lead After Bomb Parts, Phone Calls
The FBI released the pictures of the suspects after three days of collecting a mountain of evidence, from spectator photos and videos to cell phone call logs and physical evidence of a partially exploded bomb at one of the blast sites.
That bomb, which authorities say was housed in a common pressure cooker, also appears to have contained shrapnel, wires, a battery and a small circuit board.
In a new development, today store owners in Massachusetts and across the border in New Hampshire told ABC News federal agents questioned them about sales of small batteries that are specifically used in DuraTrax brand radio-controlled cars – parts of which may have been used to build the bombs.
While they follow the additional leads, by releasing the photos the FBI hopes to drop an "electronic dragnet" over the suspects, according to a senior law enforcement official.
"In an instant, images will be delivered into the hands of millions around the world," DesLauriers said in the press conference. "We know the public will play a critical role in identifying and locating these individuals."
The FBI asked that anyone with information on the two men to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit a special FBI website at bostonmarathontips.fbi.gov.
ABC News' Jack Date, Aaron Katersky, Angela M. Hill, Ned Berkowitz, Randy Kreider and Rym Momtaz contributed to this report.
