Back in August, Y Combinator held its summer session demo day, introducing the world to 60 new companies in one of its strongest batches to date. One of these companies, DoubleRecall launched as a platform that enables companies to roll out digital campaigns that actually succeed in prompting users to read an ad, rather than scoff and click elsewhere. In that sense, the Y Combinator alum is looking to replace or at least become Michael Kors Snakesk a complement to paywalls with simple, CAPTCHA-like messages that have the potential to be less annoying revenue generators. For example, DoubleRecall might offer its service on a news article, which would contain a CAPTCHA-like recall mechanism that would prompt readers to pick out a couple of words from the text and enter them into a textbox. The idea is to create experiences that are quick enough for users to navigate that they lower the barrier and obnoxiousness level and are targeted and clickable enough for brands to actually make money and potentially avoid using a paywall altogether. As to the effectiveness of this model, DoubleRecall says that the campaigns it ran over the course of Q4 2011 showed an 82 percent engagement rate, versus one to three percent for paywalls, an average CTR of 3.6 percent, and an elevenfold increase in brand awareness, versus using banner ads. The startup closed the year with $300K in revenues, which isn't too shabby for having been up and running for four months at the end of the year. These results have been intriguing enough that investors are buying into DoubleRecall's strategy, as the startup has announced that it has raised $1.6 million in seed funding. Like the other startup's in YC's summer batch, DoubleRecall was offered $170K from Yuri Milner and SV Angel's Start Fund, as well as Y Combinator. Since then, Digital Garage, Itochu Ventures, Mentor Equity and TEEC Angel have all joined in to bring the round to $1.6 million. Sure, this model is great, in that it's got the potential for publishers to monetize through an alternative approach, and readers don't have to wrestle with paywalls, but with this slight description, readers may be inclined to see this as a me-too idea very reminiscent of the same strategy that has seen Solve Media attract buzz and venture capital. DoubleRecall COO Julien Coustaury tells me that the main similarity between Solve and DoubleRecall is that, at some point, a reader has to retype words from text into a textbox. Solve's TYPE-IN platform replaces those fuzzy CAPTCHA words and numbers with a brand message or logo, with an input box. Essentially, they're using input boxes for advertising. DoubleRecall, on the other hand, doesn't want to advertise on the input box, but instead wants to serve some non-branded text readers have to recall, and use that to unlock content. In most cases, this would come in the form of pay walls. Sure, publishers, content producers need to make money, but readers generally shudder at pay walls, especially if they're not loyal customers of the brand in question. Those who read the Wall Street Journal everyday don't mind paying a bit more for some of their content, while casual readers may seethe at finding a pay wall, when they were looking for a specific article that couldn't be reached other than Michael Kors Belt Ba by paying. Thus, DoubleRecall works with publishers and sites to maintain this wall, but replace it Michael Kors Duffle with another gateway. They get the user clicks, show the content they want to show, and then get to give readers access to the content anyway. It can be a win-win, although there's still a lot more testing to be done. DoubleRecall is opening headquarters Michael Kors Purses in NYC this month, as it works to expand its reach internationally (the team is originally Slovenian, and Sale Michael Kors gained a bit of European traction in the earl-going), launching in Japan later this month. So far, the startup has signed on 40 publishers and 50 brands in total, and will look to use its new infusion of capital to fuel this international expansion and ramp Michael Kors Diaper up hiring. The company also has a social component to let brands share the best from their social media streams, as well as real-time monitoring and report making to enable them to instantly adapt to feedback. Cloud-based invoicing platform (and TechCrunch Disrupt finalist) InvoiceASAP is out with some very welcome news for business owners and their accountants today: integration Michael Kors Bag Sal with QuickBooks. The new functionality works with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, but here's the killer feature the proprietary solution supports?syncing?with QuickBooks as far back as 2004. Even QuickBooks' maker Intuit itself, only supports back to 2009. No one has this, says InvoiceASAP CEO Paul Hoeper of the new feature, no one. Also new, the company's updated mobile solution now includes support for mobile payment technology Card.io, which lets businesses scan credit cards without using a dongle. The QuickBooks support will be great news for business owners. A lot of people out there are still doing manual entries, Michael Kors Online or at the very least, manual imports, into QuickBooks today. There are some expensive custom solutions, especially in larger organizations, that allow for synchronization on the level that InvoiceASAP is offering, but nothing that's widely available. Everyone's in denial. People believe that there must be a way to connect to QuickBooks, but the reality is, there really isn't,?explains Hoeper.?Intuit themselves support?their?own connections going back to 2009 for the desktop version [via GoPayment]. The issue has to do with the QuickBooks SDK itself, he explains. It doesn't support going too far back in the past a function of Intuit trying to force its users down the upgrade path. So InvoiceASAP had to write their own solution, in the form of downloadable software, in order to support the new functionality. It's Michael Kors Python available now for $10/month and is supported in the InvoiceASAP iOS app, with Android support planned for later this month. In addition, QuickBooks is only one of many future integrations planned for the company. Over the coming months, the plan is to roll out support for more accounting and CRM platforms including Salesforce, Netsuite, Sage Products (Peachtree, e.g.) and others. The company is continuing to add support for multiple payment?acceptance methods, too, including Michael Kors Paris PayPal (which is now available on mobile, following support on the web), Zipmark (pending), and, also new as of today,?Card.io. For those of you unfamiliar, Card.io is the mobile payments solution that allows merchants to accept credit cards via mobile devices without using a dongle. Instead of swiping cards, Card.io reads the card through the phone's camera and inputs the information into the correct places Michael Kors Grayson within the app. We're integrating our backend to all payment gateways, so a business with an existing merchant account can use that solution, says Hoeper of the Card.io integration,?so now you have a method to accept mobile credit cards that you can use with your existing merchant accountit's something that's very differentiated from Square. The idea with the new Card.io integration, PayPal support, planned integration with Zipmark, and all those still in the works (not yet public), is to make InvoiceASAP a payment agnostic solution for creating invoices on the fly, Hoeper explains. The news doesn't stop there: support for these solutions will be integrated into a forthcoming product called PayASAP. While Michael Kors Cheap the company's cloud-based invoicing service has been doing well since its reveal at Disrupt in May 2011, and subsequent launch on iOS in August (they have 5,550 registered users and host 5 million invoices in the cloud), Hoeper says they've been fielding demands for something that's more of a mobile POS (point-of-sale) solution. That is, something akin to Square's cash register iPad app, but with support for other payment methods. The company considered making the POS system a feature within their current app, but then decided to launch a second solution instead: PayASAP will arrive April 30th (or sooner) on iOS and Android. It will be a simpler app that supports all the same mobile payment methods as the InvoiceASAP mobile solution. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, more details about the new integrations are available on the InvoiceASAP website here. 相关的主题文章: michael kors signature tote Cheap Michael Kors Out

Do local businesses really need another social media channel for reaching consumers? Well, here's the thing: How many restaurants, bars, and other neighborhood businesses do you follow on Twitter? I don't follow any, and even though I'm probably on the low side, BlockBeacon co-founder and CEO Brandon Mills notes, You don't want to friend or follow 200 businesses. At the same time, you probably wouldn't mind knowing when those businesses are having a happy hour or some other deal. To do that, you can use Michael Kors Tote Sa BlockBeacon, either through its website or its just-launched iPhone app. (The app seems like it will be particularly useful, since it allows you to open BlockBeacon when you're out-and-about.) The service pulls businesses' social updates from Facebook and Twitter, and also lets them post directly to BlockBeacon. When a consumer visits the site, you enter your zip code or just choose your town from a dropdown Michael Kors Bags Sa menu (the service is currently available in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego areas). Then you get a map showing nearby businesses, along with recent deals and updates that are likely to be relevant to you. You can drill down on specific categories ― the current options are featured, food, drink, deals, and food trucks (!) ― and also rate the deals being posted. (BlockBeacon uses the ratings to refine its recommendations.) Now, there are other Michael Kors Canada plenty of other location-based deal services (perhaps the most noteworthy is Groupon Michael Kors Factory Now), but BlockBeacon isn't just about deals. It's also allowing businesses to communicate anything with consumers at Michael Kors New Yor the moment they're deciding where to go Michael Kors Handbag ― as co-founder and chairman Joe Marchese put it, BlockBeacon updates should answer the question, Why should a local customer visit your store right now? For example, I just glanced at the featured map for San Francisco, and it was dominated by happy hours, but there were also a message about whether or not I had rummed it up at Smuggler's Cove and another boasting about a restaurant's banh mi sandwiches. BlockBeacon has raised $500,000 led by Resolute.vc, the new fund from Mike Hirshland (formerly of Polaris Ventures). 相关的主题文章: michael kors bags outlet Cheap Michael Kors Outlet

(NaturalNews) In a study just published in buy michael kors the journal Psycho-Oncology, researchers conclude they've found a treatment that resulted in a 50% reduction in depression and a 12% increase in feelings of peace and meaning in women with breast cancer. The successful treatment isn't a new type of anti-depressant or anti-anxiety drug. In fact, it isn't a drug at all -- it's the ancient healing and exercise system known as yoga.Wake Forest University School of Medicine scientists conducted a randomized study of 44 women, all with michael kors best se breast cancer; 34% were actively undergoing cancer treatment such as chemotherapy while the rest of the majority had already completed therapy. Half took a ten week program of 75 minute Restorative Yoga (RY) classes and half were in the waitlist control group. RY is a gentle type of yoga similar to other forms of yoga classes that gently moves the spine in all directions. Blankets, cushions, bolsters, and any other needed props provide support that results in deep relaxation with minimal physical michael kors bags ou exertion, allowing people at virtually any level of health to practice yoga more easily. The women in both groups completed a questionnaire to assess the quality of their lives at the beginning and end of the ten week program. According to the Wake Forest research team, the results showed that the women who had been given the RY classes experienced significantly michael kors factory more benefits than the control group (who were later all invited to participate in identical RY classes).Specifically, the yoga group was found to have improvements in mental health including depression, positive emotions, and cheap michael kors spirituality (defined as feeling calm and peaceful) compared to the control group. In fact, the scientists found that women who started the yoga classes with higher negative emotions and lower emotional well-being experienced the most benefits from the gentle yoga exercises compared to the control group. In addition, while women in the control group did not report a change in their fatigue levels, the women taking yoga classes demonstrated a significant improvement in fatigue symptoms."Evidence from systematic reviews of randomized trials is quite strong that mind-body therapies improve mood, quality of life, and treatment-related symptoms in people with cancer. Yoga is one mind-body therapy that is widely available and involves relatively reasonable costs," Suzanne Danhauer, Ph.D., who Michael Kors Jet Set headed the Wake Forest University School of Medicine research team, said in a statement to the media. "Given the high levels of stress and distress that many women with breast cancer experience, the opportunity to experience feeling more peaceful and calm in the midst of breast cancer is a significant benefit."About the authorSherry Baker is a widely published writer whose work has appeared in Newsweek, Health, the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Yoga Journal, Optometry, Atlanta, Arthritis Today, Natural Healing Newsletter, OMNI, UCLA's "Healthy Years" newsletter, Mount Sinai School of Medicine's "Focus on Health Aging" newsletter, the Cleveland Clinic's "Men's Health Advisor" newsletter and many others. 相关的主题文章: Michael Kors Handbags Clearance Cheap Michael Kors

(NaturalNews) As Michael Kors Shoulde all the pushing and shoving over universal health care coverage moves into high gear, one thing remains indisputable. If Americans were healthy the costs of insuring them would be a whole lot less, and coverage could easily be provided for all without breaking a sweat. Healthy people have no need to visit doctors or take expensive medicals tests. They don`t even need checkups or perceived authority figures to tell them what they already know. Unfortunately, most Americans are currently nowhere near a state of vibrant health. This is partly their fault in failing to take responsibility for keeping themselves healthy. But the greater fault lies in the fact that Americans have been victims of an ongoing undeclared war by their government and corporate leaders who have conspired to keep them in a state of disease. To achieve vibrant health for everyone, we as a people must be willing to take responsibility for ourselves and realize we have helped create the world in which we live by silently going along with such a war. To do this requires much courage and change. Here are some starting points:Restore the quality of foodHippocrates made the need for high quality food quite clear when he said "Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food." He realized that health rests in the hands of nutrition, and Red Michael Kors Bag that all the medicine anyone could ever need is contained in food. However, Hippocrates never envisioned the factory farms of today that produce nutritionally depleted food grown in starved soils under farming methods that are an insult to the earth. He had no knowledge of pesticides and genetically modified seeds. It is no coincidence that our modern health crisis parallels the disappearance of clean nutritious foods. When Americans ate a diet consisting primarily of unprocessed whole foods produced on family farms, the disease rates were a fraction of what is seen today, and health care costs were much less. We have allowed our right to eat healthy food to be stolen from us by greedy people. It`s time to use our dollars to take back this right. By buying only high quality whole foods grown organically on local small farms or in our backyards, we are saying no to the corporations that want to exploit us. When we do this we are also sending a powerful message to our families and friends that says health comes first. The more that people have to sacrifice to afford high quality food, the louder is their message.Geoffrey Canada, currently working wonders in the Harlem Children`s Zone, realizes the importance of nutrition in raising healthy children and the importance of making it a priority even in families living at the poverty level. He is shown in the current CNN special Black in America Part 2 going door to door in his school`s community, seeing bags of junk food and fast food wrappers and asking the parents where are the apples and bananas. Canada understands that it is up to each person to try to shape the world in which he lives rather than blindly accepting life as it is defined by others.Make health promoting food available for everyoneTo have a healthy nation, access to nutritious food including fruits and vegetables must be available for everyone. This means all people working for a living in the U.S. must be paid salaries that allow them to afford health promoting foods. All jobs are important to the running of an organization, otherwise they wouldn`t exist. The person who cleans the toilets deserves to be paid a livable wage. Certainly education and talent should be rewarded, but not to a degree that makes it necessary for other workers to make ends meet by feeding their families low quality processed food. The real median household income level in the United States for the year 2007 was $50,233. Compare this figure with the approximately $15,080 annual income for a family with a single wage earner working a full time job paid at minimum wage. This is likely to be the family that frequently eats cheap processed carbohydrates with little or no nutritional value because it is all they can afford. No matter how highly they place health on their priority list, this family does not have ready access to nutritious foods including fruits and vegetables. This is also the family least likely to have health insurance. Approximately 12.5 percent of the U.S. population falls into this category. http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/rele...Provide a safe water supplyHaving access to clean and safe water is a basic human right. This means water that is not contaminated with fluoride. It is widely known that fluoride has the greatest affect on fetuses, infants and children because it is a neurotoxin that compromises the developing brain. Fluoride has long been implicated in bone cancer, and there are new findings that show fluoride may lead to debilitating skeletal fluorosis. http://www.naturalnews.com/024855_fluoride_w...As much as 90 percent of the fluoride added to drinking water is in the form of hydrofluoric acid, a compound of fluorine that is a chemical byproduct of of aluminum, steel, cement, phosphate, and nuclear weapons manufacturing. Fluoride is the active toxin in several rat poisons. It Michael Kor Purses is carcinogenic industrial waste claiming to be a health product, and it is being foisted on an unsuspecting public. In reality, all the benefit from fluoride goes to the manufacturers while the public is left holding the bag for its impact on healthcare costs.Right now there are over 1750 professionals from the medical, scientific and environmental communities calling for an end to water treatment with fluoride, but their call is falling on deaf governmental ears. If we are to be a nation of healthy individuals, the drinking water that comes from our faucets and the water we bath ourselves and our children in must be free of fluoride. Only the relatively well off are able to have water filtration systems installed in their houses. The rest of the populace must use water as it comes from the tap.Insist on products that are free of hazardous chemicalsIf we are to become a healthy nation we must refuse to spend our hard earned money on food, personal care and household products that contain chemicals Michael Kors Purses that are hazardous to health. A quick read of the labels before you buy will reveal which manufacturers have the best interest of people at heart and which are only concerned with their bottom lines. If there is a substance that`s not recognizable, it is probably a chemical. Many chemicals used in these types of products are directly carcinogenic or indirect causes of cancer by their depressive actions on the immune system. Check out the degree to which a chemical is a health hazard at http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php?n...Teach what is really worth knowingGerms make you sick and doctors make you well. That`s what most children leave school thinking in the U.S., because our schools place a greater emphasis on teaching things like what the major export products of ancient Egypt were than on teaching how the human body works and what to do to keep it healthy. Yet knowledge about how the body works and what it takes to keep it in top condition is also a basic human right underwritten by nature. We must insist that schools teach this knowledge if our goal is truly to be a healthy populace.Students and adults too must be taught the full significance of homeostasis and the fact that the body will affect its own cure when given the support it needs. We must learn that treating symptoms is not the same thing as curing disease. It`s easy to understand our confusion, since we are constantly bombarded by ads for patent medicines that mask symptoms and never hear a word about natural cures. But the truth is that only natural remedies are capable of producing disease free, healthy people. Prescription drugs produce only people sliding further into disease. Natural remedies support the body and help it achieve homeostasis. Prescription drugs tear down the body and ultimately create a condition where returning to homeostasis becomes impossible. If all the ad space currently used to promote prescription drugs was given to educating people about how to support their bodies the way nature intended, the U.S. could become a country of healthy people in short order, causing health insurance rates to plummet.Included in the human health curriculum should be instruction in anatomy and physiology, and the basics of proteins, vitamins, minerals and herbs. The special compounds found in fruits that are so necessary for good health should be explained. Food selection, grouping, and the importance of digestion should be taught, as well as disease processes and how to avoid them. When students begin to graduate feeling knowledgeable and empowered to take charge of their health and well being for the rest of their lives, spiraling health care costs will be a thing of the past. Many children receive both their breakfasts and lunches at school, and some even get their dinners there. But school meals are usually completely lacking in nutritional value. With the exception of processed orange juice drinks, fruits and vegetables are seldom seen. School meals should be recreated to set an example of healthy eating and to make sure children receive the best nutrition possible on earth to foster their healthy growth and development. When children are energized by a diet of health promoting foods they will be more willing to engage in daily fitness activities both inside and outside of school. Many disease processes that get their starts during the years children are sitting in school desks for up to 10 hours a day could be circumvented by an experiential curriculum in which children learn by doing. To further knowledge, empowerment and understanding, school activities can be integrated into the community rather than kept separate. Students who are taught to think and problem solve in real situations are more likely to turn into adults who are able to keep themselves healthy. It is important to realize that schools do everything to rob children of real, useful knowledge and empowerment with their mandate to produce dumbed-down non-thinkers who will fit nicely into positions as corporate and government drones. Financial education is seldom taught in schools because keeping young adults ignorant of financial matters puts them in a position to be exploited as they were in the recent mortgage fiasco. No person with even the most basic understanding of how money works would have signed up for an interest-only mortgage. A basic understanding of finance is critical to creating a secure place for one`s self in the world. Since money is the number one cause of stress, becoming a truly healthy society will elude us until there is freedom from exploitation and until people are able to hang onto the money they earn and use it for their own benefit and health.Forget the overtime and get a good night`s sleepWorking 55 or more hours a week is associated with poor health. Dr. Paul Landsbergis from the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine has noted that several studies of myocardial infarction and two studies of hypertension have shown an association of these diseases with long work weeks. He sees recent trends in the organization of work affecting workers` health by "increasing stress-related illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, and psychological disorders, by increasing exposure to hazardous substances and violence on the job." Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, January, 2003)The Japanese call it karoshi. It means death from overwork, and it has been rising at an alarming rate in Japan. Strokes and heart attacks from overwork killed 147 Japanese workers last year. Once recognized, karoshi did not lead to immediate change. Instead, acceptance of long working hours and toughing it out remained the norm. But this may be changing, at least in Japan. A recent ruling by the labor bureau actually listed the cause of death for a Toyota employee as overwork, making his family eligible for benefits. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content...In the U.S. extended work weeks are still on the rise, and there is as yet no word in the English language that means death from overwork. During the current "financial crisis" which has resulted in staggering unemployment rates, people here have felt the need to suck it up too, as employers try to squeeze extra labor out of them.Anthropologist T. S. Wiley cites a pile of research showing that the reason overwork leads to poor health and death is because it robs people of a good night`s sleep. In her ground breaking book Lights Out she documents that nine hours of uninterrupted sleep is required to complete the full melatonin, prolactin cycle so necessary for a fully functioning immune system. When people sleep less than that amount, the immune system becomes compromised and is unable to protect against diseases such as cancer. People who work long hours still need time for commuting, chores, quality time with children, exercise and relaxation. They don`t have much time Michael Kors Purse left for sleeping.A psychologically healthy nation does not demand that its people work themselves to death. If we want to create a healthy population that makes insurance easily affordable by everyone, we need to end corporate tyranny over our work force and return work to its proper place as a means to an end, not an end in itself.Put an end to bio-weaponry build upA nation that is careless with the health of its people will forever have escalating health insurance rates. Recent designer diseases such as Lyme, AIDS, West Nile, and Legionnaires that have accidentally or purposefully been released from bio-weaponry labs such as Michael Kor Handbags Plum Island and Fort Detrick have done much to escalate the cost of health care.Bio-engineering and warehousing of pathogens has created the potential for these pathogens to be released into the environment where they can infect people and set the stage for expensive but deadly vaccination programs to be initiated. A March 11th, 1979 episode of the television show 60 Minutes covered the massive vaccination program foisted on the public supposedly as a response to the 1976 swine flu outbreak. The CDC subsequently admitted that the virus originated at the Fort Dix bio-facilities, according to Dr. Ghislaine Lanctot quoted in a Kurt Nimmo article. http://www.infowars.com/canadian-doctor-h1n1...Army criminal investigators from Fort Meade are currently looking into the possibility that disease samples of H1N1 are missing from the bio-lab at Fort Detrick, the same lab from which the 2001 anthrax strain was released. (Fort Detrick disease samples may be missing, Fredrick News Post, April 26th).Michael Carroll`s, Lab 257: The Disturbing Story of the Government`s Secret Plum Island Germ Laboratory was released in 2004. The book explores the insidious connection between the Department of Homeland Security`s bio-lab at Plum Island and the newest inexplicable diseases. It presents a compelling mound of evidence that Lyme was created at Plum and unleashed on the American public using ticks as its vector. The deadly outbreak of West Nile virus and its connection to Plum is also documented. In 2005, the Centers for Disease Control admitted that Lyme disease was a "potential bioterrorism agent". http://www.lyme-rage.info/bwsept06.htmlFor more information:http://www.truthpublishing.com/grocerywarnin... http://www.naturalnews.com/024416.htmlhttp://www.naturalnews.com/025385_disease_wa...About the authorBarbara is a school psychologist, a published author in the area of personal finance, a breast cancer survivor using "alternative" treatments, a born existentialist, and a student of nature and all things natural. 相关的主题文章: Micheal Kors Bags Cheap Michael Kors Outlet Online

A new startup, SeatID, wants to change the way you fly. Their service lets you use your social network to help pick your next flight and seat assignment. SeatID is available starting today on the Ukrainian airline AeroSvit and the company plans to sign up major international airlines and online travel services soon. Whether passengers will want to share their flight and seat info is a big and controversial question. Eran Savir, CEO and co-founder of Israeli-based SeatID, says everyone has a bad flying story thanks to an awful seatmate. That experience is what inspired the founders to start the company. When you are deciding what flight to take and where to sit, SeatID shows your Facebook friends or LinkedIn contacts on each flight, if they have opted in to the service. Savir argues it's better to sit next to a friend, a friend of a michael kors factory friend, or someone with common interests or business connections, rather than a total stranger, which is the case now. Savir says while the service could be used for social and dating purposes, the more popular scenario is the business use case. I asked a few folks around the TechCrunch office if anyone wanted so share their seat and flight info. None did. One said flying is not a social thing' and someone called it creepy'. The SeatID team knows not everyone will opt-in. They have built in strict privacy controls that allows users to decide Michael Kors Handbag who they share their information with. SeatID's privacy rules inherit your existing Facebook or LinkedIn privacy setting and then add additional limits. SeatID says they don't need many passengers to get started. Their initial target is a 5 to 10% conversion rate, or 10 to 20 people on every flight. Given the nearly 3 Michael Kors Website billion passengers each year, that would be a huge number of users. There are two parts needed to make SeatID work. The first is people who agree to share information that they will be on a specific flight. Without some passengers who are willing to share this info, the second group won't know who is available for them to sit next to. If someone decides to sit next to you, you don't have the ability to reject them. But, you don't have that ability without SeatID either. Of course, you could try to move your seat. SeatID also knows they need enough users in the beginning to have a network effect and make the service useful. Savir claims once his customers use the service, they won't want to fly the old-fashioned way, without this social knowledge the next time. I wrote about other companies that have tried to do this nearly a year ago, when KLM announced a meet & seat program. But SeatID's concept is different. They want to work with every airline, something that KLM can't offer. SeatID says while the airlines are looking to increase their uses of social media, building the technology to do social seating is not their core business. In addition to KLM, I also reported Malaysia Airlines has been experimenting with social seating. But, the airline requires you to book your flight on the airline's Facebook page, which is not the typical place people book flights. That's not at all how SeatID works. SeatID wants you to book Discount Michael Kor your flight on the same site that you currently book it on, whether that's an airline website or a travel ticketing site. But all the passengers who opt in to SeatID when purchasing Michael Kors Sale their ticket on partner sites will see other passengers no matter which ticketing system they used, as long as their privacy settings allow. With their first partnership, travelers can go to AeroSvit's site and decide if they want to login with their Facebook or LinkedIn accounts. SeatID doesn't integrate with the backend ticketing or reservations systems of each airline. It only integrates on the frontend so a widget can display who is on each flight. David Rachamim, co-founder and CTO of SeatID says we've built it as a SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution, which makes the implementation onto the customer's website very simple. SeatID says they can integrate with a new partner in a few days or less. At launch, AeroSvit is only showing ticket buyers in your social networks who are on each flight. The seatmap feature, which shows their seat assignment, has not been implemented yet, but will be soon. When I questioned how valuable this service would be without the seatmap feature, Savir notes that some airlines don't have assigned seating. So friends could would be able to grab seats together after they board. Savir says SeatID has gotten interest from some of these no seat assignment carriers, but wouldn't name them until a deal is reached. SeatID has raised seed funding, but they won't disclose the amount. For the first customers, the service is free and SeatID would like it to stay that way. They hope to make money by licensing the software to the airlines. If airlines discover this creates great value for users, airlines might charge passengers to use it. For now, SeatID is only available on AeroSvit, based-in the Ukraine, with its 80 international routes to 34 countries. At best, SeatID could make your flight much more enjoyable. SeatID might also help you avoid sitting next to a screaming baby. However, if you pick a flying Michael Kors Handbag companion that turns into a nightmare, you can't just leave. Of course, you can always put on your headset or go to sleep. Image: flickr / Daquella Manera 相关的主题文章: Michael Kors Handbags Clearance Cheap Michael Kors

Ad startup 140 Proof is opening up a partner platform for Michael Kors Online companies that want to take advantage of its social ad targeting. The company currently delivers ads to 50 social apps, including Echofon, TweetCaster, and Plume. Rose Gold Michael Ko Underlying Michael Kors Contine the network is something that 140 Proof calls Interest Graph Targeting, where users are assigned different personas based on what they say and who they follow. Those personas allow advertisers to serve ads to people with specific interests, and the new platform makes this interest targeting available to other companies. Among other things, co-founder and CTO John Manoogian III pitches this as a way for brand advertisers to extend their reach beyond traditional advertising like TV. For example, if an advertiser wanted to reach people interested in Glee, they could run an ad during the show, but they could also target social network users who have commented about Glee or follow Glee-related accounts (as illustrated in the image above). Interest-based targeting will also be key if mobile ads are Michael Kors Cheap going to make money, he says. Several mobile and social ad companies have already signed up, including Jumptap, Celtra, and OneLouder. It seems like 140 Proof might face one of the common challenges of platform companies sometimes ― balancing the needs of the platform with the other parts of the business. In this case, an ad network might be a customer of the platform but also a competitor with the 140 Proof network. However Manoogian says the market dwarfs any individual company, so it Michael Kors Site will be a long time before we run into any channel conflicts. And while advertising is an obvious place to start, Sale Michael Kors Ha Manoogian and his co-founder and CEO Jon Elvekrog see broader possibilities for the platform. For example, they say that an e-commerce site could use 140 Proof targeting to deliver improved recommendations. 相关的主题文章: Michael Kors Crossbody Bag Cheap Michael Kors Outl

(NaturalNews) When the small British mill town of Todmorden, tucked in between Yorkshire and Lancashire, first began installing fruit and vegetable gardens all around the area as part of the Incredible Edible program, it likely had no idea that the novel, yet simple, concept would Michael Kors Handbag make the town a foremost inspirational and self-sustaining model of the future.Fresh herbs, succulent greens, and tasty fruits can be found growing near civic buildings, college campuses, supermarket parking lots, and various other places. Small garden plots, raised planting beds, and even small soil strips in these areas can be found brimming with fresh produce, all of which are free to anyone who want it, and at any time.It is all part of a program called Incredible Edible, which was founded by Mary Clear, a local grandmother of ten, Michael Kors Canada and Pam Warhurst, former owner of a local restaurant in town known as Bear Cafe. The duo had a shared goal of making Todmorden the first town in the UK to become completely self-sufficient in food -- and their endeavors have been successful, at least as far as keeping up with demand for produce from locals who want it.The program so far utilizes 70 large planting beds located all around the town to plant raspberries, apricots, apples, blackcurrants, redcurrants, strawberries, beans, peas, cherries, mint, rosemary, thyme, fennel, potatoes, kale, carrots, lettuce, onions, vegetables, and herbs. Not only did locals quickly catch on and Michael Kors Wallets begin taking the produce, but they also generally respect the system and do not take advantage of it."If you take a grass verge that was used as a litter bin and a dog toilet and turn it into a place full of herbs and fruit trees, people won't vandalize it. I think we are hard-wired not to damage food," said Warhurst, concerning the notion that offering free fruit and vegetables might lead to abuse or other crimes. She noted, in fact, that quite the opposite Michaels Kors Handba has occurred -- the Incredible Edible program has improved community relations, and reduced crime by an incrementally Micheal Kors Bags higher amount every single year since it first started. The program has been so successful, in fact, that many other communities both in the UK and abroad are now interested in starting their own public garden programs as well. Besides improving the sense of community and reducing crime, Incredible Edible has renewed a new sense of appreciation for food and how it is grown, as well as renewed interest in actually growing MK Tote it among the next generation, which is the envy of many progressive communities around the world.Sources for this article include:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-20... 相关的主题文章: Michael Kors Leather Handbags Cheap Michael Kors O

Chicago-based startup 8th Stage is launching in beta form today, offering independent music artists a way to push forward and track their career online. The idea is to give artists more tools to help them deal with the changing nature of the music industry, which no longer takes big risks on unproven acts with expensive record contracts the way it has in the past. What's changed about the music industry? According to 8th Stage co-founder Paul Jorgensen, a lot. For one, record labels don't have the big budgets to spend on discovering and developing talent based on the old methods of demo tapes and one-off auditions, and for another, it doesn't Michael Kors Crossbo really make good financial sense to use those methods when everyone has YouTube accounts, Twitter and Facebook and many often try to build followings on those channels independently. What those channels lack, and what 8th Stage wants to provide, is some transparency and guidance around how you get from playing music on your own to becoming a musician professionally, or just to advancing your hobby to the next level. I realized the industry had changed so much, when I tried myself to make it as an artist and I literally had people at labels saying Five or ten years ago we could take this demo and give you like a million or two and you and could just go and record,' Jorgensen said, explaining what's changed to make 8th Stage necessary. But because they weren't really generating the money anymore that they used to with record sales, they'd become these giant risk averse corporations. ProfileFinal Opps_dark Light_coolshade_about cheap michael kors 4-open-call-results1 4-open-call-search-vid3 michael kors bags ou DarkProfileFinal View Slideshow Previous Next Exit Talent development is no longer so much the province of the record labels, and that's where 8th Stage comes in. The site offers artists the chance to create profile pages, complete with skills, personal details, music and samples, and more. Those artists can then connect to work on projects, and view available opportunities. Bands could be formed, or a local guitar player could find a band to sit in with for a single gig, all depending on what an artist wants to get out of the experience. One of our primary goals is making it easier for artists and industry professionals that have the skills and the experience and are at the maturity level that they're michael kors best se looking for to work with, Jorgensen said. And then michael kors factory the second part of it was finding opportunities. So whether that opportunity was for headlining a tour, getting a song featured in a TV show, or securing a sponsorship, whatever that opportunity may be, artists want to get paid. 8th Stage is working on developing partnerships that will help with a lot of those goals, but Jorgensen says talks are still in progress so michael kors factory the company can't announce anything definitive just yet. The startup is bootstrapped, with a lot of the funding coming from CEO and founder Marcus Cobb, but Jorgensen says they could look for funding sometime in 2014. Beta users can sign up at the site now to request an invite to join. 相关的主题文章: Michael Kors Handbag Cheap Michael Kors Outlet Onl

(NaturalNews) A significant health freedom victory has taken place in the European nation of Poland, where all plantings of Monsanto's MON810, a genetically-modified (GM) variety of maize (corn) that produces its own built-in Bt insecticide in every kernel, have been Michael Kors Crossbo officially banned. The decision comes after thousands of protesters recently took to the streets in demonstration of the undeniable fact that both MON810 and the chemicals applied to it are at least partially responsible for causing Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), the worldwide Michael Kors Shoulde phenomenon in which entire swarms of honey bees disappear or turn up dead."The decree is in the works. It introduces a complete ban on the MON810 strain of maize in Poland," said Polish Agriculture Minister Marek Sawicki, who also explained to the press that pollen from MON810 appears to be responsible for further devastating the already dwindling bee population throughout the country and elsewhere.According to Michael Kors Handbag reports, Poland's decision to ban MON810 makes it the first nation to formally acknowledge that Monsanto's GM corn is definitively linked to CCD. It also affirms the findings of several earlier studies that have identified a link between Bt GM crops and bee deaths, including independent research conducted by Pennsylvania beekeeper John McDonald.McDonald's research found that bees foraging near Bt crops did not gain the proper amount of weight, and failed to produce honey in their honey supers (honey storage bins) when they should have. Their non-Bt crop counterparts, on the Michael Kors Contine other hand, produced more than double the amount of honey they needed to survive the winter ( http://www.naturalnews.com/025287.html).Back in early March, nine European countries -- Belgium, Great Britain, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Ireland, and Slovakia -- successfully blocked an effort Michael Kors Hamilto by the Danish EU presidency to allow expanded cultivation of GM crops in Europe. And around that same time, France imposed its own ban on MON810.Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to forge ahead in the unmitigated, and largely unregulated, cultivation Michael Michael Kors and use of GM crops. Despite countless grassroots efforts to put at least some restraint on GM agriculture, including a number of state initiatives that would require GMO labeling on food, Monsanto's products continue to dominate much of the American agricultural landscape. To learn more about how you can support the preservation of honeybees in your local community, be sure to visit: http://www.honeybeehaven.org/content/take-pledgeSources for this article include:http://www.polishnews.comhttp://capwiz.com/grassrootsnetroots/issues/alert/?alertid=22033501 相关的主题文章: Michael Michael Kors Bags Cheap Michael Kors Outlet Online \(42\)

(NaturalNews) What does Russia know about genetically modified corn that we don't? Well, maybe not much, but the difference is Moscow is at least prepared to act on the information it has.According to recent reports, the Russian consumer-rights watchdog agency, Rospotrebnadzor, said recently it made the decision to suspend importation and use of genetically engineered corn made by Monsanto Co., after release Michael Kors Hamilto of a study alleging that the crop causes cheap michael kors cancer.Rospotrebnadzor said in a statement that Russia's Institute of Nutrition has been asked to gauge the validity of the study's results, while the European Commission's Directorate General for Health & Consumers has also been contacted, in order to lay out the European Union's position on the issue. The study was conducted by the University of Caen in France and published earlier this month. Researchers alleged that rats that were fed over a two-year period with the U.S. crop-biotech company's GMO corn, called NK603 and marketed under the brand name "Roundup Ready," "developed more tumors and other severe diseases than a test group fed with regular corn," Fox Business reported.French government to decide whether it will also ban GMO corn importationThe study also proffered that rats fed with the modified corn and then exposed to buy michael kors the St. Louis-based Monsanto's Roundup weed killer tended to suffer more pathologies that did the test group. The corn variety is genetically engineered to stave off glyphosate, a weed killer that Monsanto offers under the Roundup brand, the report said.As expected, a number of scientists and nutritionists discounted the study, greeting it with skepticism. For example, the Science Media Centre, a London-based independent organization that gathers reactions to published research, posted a number of comments by several experts that were critical of the research. Most said the sample size was too small while the data was incomplete, among other concerns. The study prompted the French government to order its food-safety agency to quickly review its results. Officials said they planned to seek an immediate ban on EU imports of the crop if the findings of the study were deemed to be legitimate Michael Kors Hamilto and conclusive.Again, as expected, Monsanto repeated earlier claims that nothing in the French study warranted any sort of ban of the company's biotech-engineered seed.In particular, the company bashed the study in a statement released shortly after Michael Kors Hamilto the research published its findings, saying they did "not meet minimum acceptable standards for this type of scientific research," adding that "the findings are not supported by the data presented, and the conclusions are not relevant for the purpose of safety assessment."Call for GMO labeling in the U.S. by congressmanFox Business Michael Kors Shoulde went on to report that an unnamed spokesman from Monsanto downplayed the effect of the Russian ban, pointing out that Moscow imports little American-grown corn anyway."Russia is a net exporter of grain, so the actual impact of their temporary suspension, if any, is likely to be small," the spokesman said.Further, the company said any impact on its sales of corn seed to farmers will also be similarly limited, most likely because the Russian government doesn't allow farmers to plant transgenic crops. The Health Ranger, Mike Adams, wrote this week that U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, has called for a national GMO labeling law here in the U.S."The FDA has received over a million comments from citizens demanding labeling of GMOs. Ninety percent of Americans agree," Kucinich has said. "So, why no labeling? I'll give you one reason: The influence and the corruption of the political process by Monsanto. Monsanto has been a prime mover in GMO technology, a multi-million dollar GMO lobby here and a major political contributor."Sources:http://www.foxbusiness.comhttp://www.naturalnews.com/037328_Russia_GMO_Monsanto.htmlhttp://www.naturalnews.com/037290_Zyklon_B_GMO_food_weapons.html 相关的主题文章: Michael Kors Rose Cheap Michael Kors Outlet Online

(NaturalNews) Neuro-plasticity refers to the capacity of the nervous system to change its structure and function over a lifetime. Most people understand that if a right-handed person loses the ability to use his right arm, he will soon adapt and come to depend on his left. The process of learning will take place slowly and force the brain to forge new neural pathways that make using the left hand easy. Brain plasticity. It is well researched. What many people don't realize is that mental and emotional learning also force the brain to develop new physical connections. When these new connections develop, they can be permanent. This alone should be evidence that 1) you can recover from mental and emotional issues and 2) psychotherapy and related disciplines are the best options (as they facilitate learning), compared with drug intervention. This week on Mental Michael Kors Handbag Health Exposed, I speak with Drs. Carol Kershaw and J. William Wade, authors of Brain Change Therapy. On the December 12, 2012 episode, we discuss the latest technology and therapies to change your brain for good!Listen to what researcher Ernest Rossi, Ph.D. says about the effect of therapy on genes and the brain:Gene expression and brain plasticity are the physical basis of the natural transformations of mind, consciousness, and Michael Kors Canada behavior. Direct evidence for gene expression and brain plasticity facilitated by psychotherapy is being rapidly documented at this time (Kandel, 2001; Lichtenberg, et al., 2000, 2004; Rossi, 2002b,2004b, 2005-2006, 2007, 2008).Evidence for the involvement of gene expression and brain plasticity in psychotherapy was originally emphasized by Eric Kandel (Kandel, 2001, 2006), who recently won a Nobel Prize for his lifetime of research in this area. Kandel (1998) states this perspective as Michael Kors Canada follows:"Insofar as psychotherapy or counseling is effective and produces long-term changes in behavior, it presumably does so through learning, by producing changes in gene expression that alter the strength of synaptic connections and structural changes that alter the anatomical pattern of interconnections between nerve cells of the brain. As the resolution of brain imaging increases, it should eventually permit quantitative evaluation of the outcome of psychotherapy.Stated simply, the regulation of gene expression by social factors makes all bodily functions, including all functions of the brain, susceptible to social influences. These social influences will be biologically incorporated in the altered Purses Michael Kors expressions of specific genes in specific nerve cells of specific regions of the brain. These socially influenced alterations are transmitted culturally. They are not incorporated in the sperm and egg and therefore are not transmitted genetically."This will make sense to most people who have undergone successful mental health therapies. The changes in perspective and feeling are deep and abiding. Why? Because after undergoing effective therapy, you are rewired.Listen for the latest in brain changing therapies on the December 12, 2012 episode of Mental Health Exposed.About the author:Watch the free video The AHA! (NaturalNews) Good news for busy people: you can get just as much health benefit from a series of disconnected bouts of exercise as short as a minute or two each as you can from a single 30-minute workout, according to a study conducted by researchers from Oregon State University and published in the American Journal of Health Promotion."Our results suggest that engaging in an active lifestyle approach, compared to a structured exercise approach, may be just as beneficial in improving various health outcomes," lead author Paul Loprinzi said."We encourage people to seek out opportunities to be active when the choice is available. For example, rather than sitting while talking on the phone, use this opportunity to get in some activity by pacing around while talking."The study was conducted on a nationally representative sample of more than 6,000 U.S. adults, all of whom were assigned to wear accelerometers so that their daily activity patterns could be quantitatively measured. The researchers found that participants could be divided into those who were active in short bouts throughout the day - sometimes for as little as a minute or two at a time - and those who were active only in larger bouts, such as for a half-hour or more at a time.Participants in the "short bouts" group, on average, had lower blood pressure, cholesterol, waist circumference, and rates of metabolic syndrome (a cluster of symptoms associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes) than Michael Kors Satchel participants in the "long bouts" group. There was no significant difference between the groups in body mass index, a ratio calculated based on height and weight. This may provide evidence that body size per se is not the most important measure in calculating overall health, researcher Brad Cardinal said."There are inherent limitations in BMI as a surrogate measure of fat and health in general," he said. "People can still be 'fit' and 'fat.'"Short bouts lead to more activity overallNotably, the researchers found that people who exercised Michael Kors Handbag in short bouts were significantly more likely to actually Michael Kors Purse O achieve the federal recommendation of Cheap Michael Kors H 30 minutes of exercise per day than people who went only for "long bouts;" 43 percent of the short bout group met the goal, compared with fewer than 10 percent of the long bout group.Rates of metabolic syndrome were equally low among all people who achieved the recommended 30 minutes, whether in long bouts Michael Kors Astor B or short."You hear that fewer than 10 percent of Americans exercise and it gives the perception that people are lazy," Cardinal said. "Our research shows that more than 40 percent of adults achieved the exercise guidelines, by making movement a way of life."According to Cardinal, an "active lifestyle" model of exercise is simply more helpful than a workout-based model. It is not only easier to achieve, but easier to stick with Michael Kors Handbag as well."This is a more natural way to exercise, just to walk more and move around a bit more," he said.
