An interesting twist just happened with Anchorage Brewing Company’s acquisition of additional fermentation and conditioning space in an offsite location. Anchorage Brewing Company is situated in the cavernous Snow Goose Restaurant and Sleeping Lady Brewing Company complex on Third Street in downtown Anchorage. Owner/Brewer Gabe Fletcher’s operation is unique from the standpoint that he uses the Sleeping Lady Brewing Company’s brewing system to produce the unfermented beer,
gen11471, then gravity feeds the beer through the floor to the space below it where a few hundred oak barrels in various sizes receive the beer for all-oak fermentation and conditioning. The resulting beer is also bottled in this location. Fletcher’s process is unique and his is one of the only all-oak breweries in the world. ?
