The restaurant is on classy Culver Road, across from DG, amid boutiques. Inside, the restaurant walls are brightly painted in a mural depicting the exteriors of homes surrounding a plaza in a French city. Street lights and colorfully appointed tables and chairs enhance the illusion. The drink station in a corner is disguised beneath an awning for a fictional restaurant/bakery that reads: Chez Marius restaurant, patisserie,
and Sergei Fedorov, boulangerie.
From Carney Island, we head north on Southeast 115th Avenue to CR 25. To the right is Alfie's,
making his second career start, a restaurant that long has billed itself as "Ocklawaha's best-kept secret." It isn't, though; the roadhouse has been a popular stop for at least a decade.
Outlook: Another half-dozen schools qualified as being “snubbed” out of this tournament as well (mostly from the West Valley and Tucson schools), but it was bound to happen since there were 59 schools in Div. II competing for the 16 spots. Seeding appears a bit more jumbled here as No. 16 Sunrise Mountain is significantly better than its seeding, but playing at No. 1 South Mountain (who’s also played a difficult schedule based on strength numbers) makes this a top matchup. The other big one to watch in the first round is Notre Dame-Campo Verde, a pair of legitimate final four contenders. Queen Creek-Cactus Shadows should be interesting,
outlet canada goose, if the Bulldogs (who have a weak strength of schedule) can hang with one of the better teams in Div. II, and Tempe’s solid schedule give Steve Cihomsky’s team a legitimate shot against No. 2 Greenway even on the road. Because worthy schools were left behind and there doesn’t appear to be a clear-cut favorite,
gen13014, this bracket is much more unpredictable. That’s usually a good thing in postseason play.
Life became more affordable, but not easier. Along the way, he has gone through an NBA suspension for substance abuse (allegedly marijuana), lost his 61/2-month-old son to sudden infant death syndrome, was the passenger in a car accident that killed a motorcyclist, and moved on from the Lakers, where he had played significant roles in two championships but was no longer wanted, to the Dallas Mavericks, where he was a bust.
“Barry is a young man who has been in our program for four years and has not had much of a chance to contribute,” said Highland coach Pete Wahlheim. “Tonight he stepped up.”
