It would be impossible to overstate the majesty of Prince William Sound. Glaciers thread through coastal rainforest, and it is common to see seals, sea otters,
boat docks, sea lions, whales, and porpoises. Oystercatchers,
moncler outlet, bald and golden eagles, arctic terns, and kittiwakes are among the waterfowl that frequent the Sound. Hundreds of waterfalls cascade off steep rock walls, while snowfields and glaciers present a stark contrast to the darker mountains and rainforest. In 1899, industrialist Averill Harriman sponsored an expedition to Prince William Sound that included some of the era��s best scientists. Its participants were awed by the landscape and wildlife. Hariman��s multi-volume report on the expedition through the Sound, which included the ��discovery�� (for white men, at least) of Harriman Fjord,
bonded and insured contractors, inspired Teddy Roosevelt to create the Chugach National Forest.
After 40 some years of coping with the problems of life, I lost faith in religion and adopted common sense as a guide to live by. During the next year or so, through self-honesty and introspection, I realized that life��s first priority is survival, then comes acquiring knowledge about matters of interest, followed by a pursuit of personal desire. These priorities led me to peace of mind and the assumption that the world is exactly the way it ought to be, and people are exactly where they need to be.
