Ink - Although there are inks available at cheaper prices it is better to follow the manufacturers advice and use the true canon color inks to get the true quality of this pixma printer. Using the cheap non branded inks simply shorten the life of your printer and don't produce the same quality prints. However, most reviews state there are few differences between the ip4500 and the ip4600 but the ink cartridges are completely different. The ip4600 uses
