On Nov. 15, the Cowgirls traveled to Ft. Huachuca in game five of their conference schedule. The Cowgirls started slowly, but by the third inning were in high gear scoring all nine batters.? With a sharp infield, Willcox quickly took control of the game and shut down the Panthers’ runners. Maddi Givens made several key plays including a nifty piece of fielding throwing out a runner at home and also stretching to her right to run down a fly ball. Lauren Reyes and Syrena Granado combined for numerous outs at first base,, while Sam Kortsen and Danielle Barba also looked sharp on several infield plays. The Cowgirls finally came out of their shell and played with enthusiasm and emotion, defeating the Panthers 14-6.? Balee Brown pitched seven strong innings for the win. Givens hit her second home run of the season, while Grenado belted her first home run of the year to lead the Cowgirls.
