If I took on a new hobby or needed to learn a new skill, I had to first go and buy as many books about the subject as I could afford. I took great pride in collecting books, and a book sale - such as the ones our local library friends run on a regular basis - were a treasure trove to me. My bookshelves still hold tomes on gardening, cooking (I don't use those much), dogs, fiction and non-fiction inspiration, how-to missives, books on sailing (I love to read about people who sail solo around the world, though I'm not so sure I'd like to try it myself!) and shelves full of miscellaneous titles. When my husband and I built a large family room addition on to our tiny house, we specifically requested an entire wall-sized bookshelf. It's beautiful, and it's full. We are true book addicts. We easily could spend $100 in a swift jaunt down the center aisle of the Barnes and Noble store that, regrettably, is no longer in Prescott.You'll notice I describe many of my book experiences in the past tense.
