Tyler Lambert, son of actress Dana Plato, kills himself 11 years after mother’s suicide
The son of ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ star Dana Plato killed himself shortly before Mother’s Day, according to a recent report. His mother took her own life 11 years before.
Tyler Lambert, 25, had been battling depression and drug addiction, according to the National Enquirer. Hekilled himselfon May 6 -- his mother’s suicide took place on May 8, 1999.
Popeater reports that Lambert reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His grandmother said he was mourning his mother’s death and “wanted to be with” her.The coroner's office is awaiting final results on toxicology tests.
Plato had her own issues with drug addiction and in January 1992 was arrested for forging a prescription for Valium. She committed suicide by overdosing on prescription drugs at the age of 34.
Lambert filed a wrongful death lawsuit against his mother's fiancé seven years later, claiming he failed to provide her with medical assistance or “[contact] medical personnel.”
Lambert's father is rock guitarist Lanny Lambert.
