"I wanted to be there on behalf of something bigger, which is why I have chosen to take a risk with my dress in order to promote something inspiring," she said

Tuckwell-Smith will not only wear a sustainable dress

The dress, designed by Georgia McCorkill, is made of "up-cycled" silk georgette: the offcuts of ivory fabrics left over by Melbourne designers, including Mariana Hardwick, and then pieced together using minimal stitching.
McCorkill, who is studying for her PhD in fashion research, said celebrity culture was a significant factor in promoting messages such as sustainable fashion.
