Donn Pease is building an HO Scale layout representing part of the former Southern Pacific Railroad through Southern Arizona, set in the 1950s and 1960s. Locomotives of the late steam and early diesel era pull freight and passenger trains of the same vintage. The layout represents several towns in Southern Arizona, such as Red Rock, Tucson, and Benson."The layout is complete enough to run trains over the entire area, which fills the basement. Scenery is in the beginning stages, so that the town of Red Rock is almost complete and most of the rest of the layout is partially done or just starting," said Pease. Several model railroaders and visitors, along with others in the greater Prescott area who attended the swap meet visited the layout, including a bus load of about 40 people from Phoenix who travel up from the valley every year for the swap meet and open houses.
