Ever wondered what the world will be like when the robots take over? On Saturday, some of us might get a glimpse, when the first robot film festival kicks off in New York. As one of nine individuals that make up the (human-only) jury that will determine which of the 53 accepted films get awarded Botskers, or "robot Oscars", I have particular reason to be excited. I can't give away much about the films before the big event, but to find out what the aims of the festival are - and what it might do for human-robot relations - in the interview below I caught up with festival director Heather Knight, a PhD student in social robotics and no stranger to robot performance.
