On Aug. 1, at the Marc-Art Show and Silent Auction at Mobile Museum of Art, collaborative artist Susan Bell showed guest Winkie Penney of Belle Fontaine the work of "her" Mobile Arc artist, Brandy Hartley. Bell, also of Belle Fontaine, is a drafter who volunteers weekly to work with Carolyn Greene, instructor of the art program, and the students at the facility on Gordon Smith Drive. Several of the clients chose to paint or draw the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Mobile for their exhibit piece, and Hartley's vision of the historic church was particularly beautiful. A lot of people �� who should know better �� have tried to rope the Tucson Conquistadores in on the blame for not wanting Grand Canyon University to build a campus on the site of El Rio Golf Course, 1400 W. Speedway. Yes, the Conquistadores have a contract with the City of Tucson to run its First Tee junior golf program at the west side course but there��s nothing in the contract that says it can��t be moved.
