First official shop 2006 FIFA World Cup opens in Berlin
« en: Mayo 09, 2013, 11:15:06 am »
There may be another 21 months until the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ gets  underway in Munich on 9 June 2006, but the ball is already rolling with the  opening of the first of the initial 12 official 2006 FIFA World Cup™ shops  in Berlin. In a ceremony to mark the occasion at Karstadt Sport in Berlin's  Neues Kranzler Eck, FIFA General Secretary Urs Linsi, President of the Local  Organising Committee Franz Beckenbauer and KarstadtQuelle board member Prof.  Helmut Merkel all lined up to fire synchronised shots through the shop's  entrance, which was decorated to resemble a goal.

Between now and 5 November, an exclusive and official 2006 FIFA World Cup™  shop will open in a Karstadt store in each of the 12 host cities around Germany.  KarstadtQuelle AG, FIFA's official sales partner, will enable fans to experience  the unique atmosphere of the FIFA World Cup™, as anybody who wanders into  an official fan shop will be transported into a new world focusing on the event  to be held on German soil. Top Italian designer Paolo Lucchetta's has  successfully recreated an authentic football atmosphere for the official 2006  FIFA World Cup™ shops.

Even now, just under two years before the event, people in Germany are eagerly  looking forward to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, and with the opening of the  first official 2006 FIFA World Cup™ shop in this Karstadt store in Berlin,  the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ is now part and parcel of people's everyday  lives. We are delighted to have such a reliable and experienced sales partner as  KarstadtQuelle AG," commented Urs Linsi. FIFA's Official Partners and National  Suppliers are also helping to promote the fan shops, with a number of companies,  including adidas, Fujifilm, Hyundai, MasterCard and Hamburg-Mannheimer,cheap jerseys from china, involved  in the opening ceremonies. Visitors on the opening days will even have the  opportunity to feel like stars by posing with the FIFA World Cup™ trophy for a  Fujifilm photo, for example.

The official FIFA World Cup™ shops have already enjoyed considerable  success in their short history, wholesale jerseys. The very first official fan FIFA World  Cup™ shop was opened on the Champs-Elysees in 1998 and following the  success of that initiative, cheap jerseys from china, 18 shops were opened in Korea and Japan for the  event four years later. By the time the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ kicks off,  there will be more than 300 shops around Germany, forming a key focal point for  the event itself. For the first time, there will also be shops in towns and  cities that are not hosting matches in the FIFA World Cup™,discount football kits, underlining  the increasingly important role that fan shops now play as local centres of  attention.

This cooperation with KarstadtQuelle AG has been arranged by EM.TV AG, the  Munich-based media company that holds the European marketing rights for 2006  FIFA World Cup™ merchandising. EM.TV AG is FIFA's European licensing  representative.

Think globally, cheap football kits, act locally' is the new byword for FIFA's licensing department,  indicative of FIFA's wish to directly involve a chain of department stores with  outlets nationwide. "Merchandising creates a link to the fans on the street and  the official 2006 FIFA World Cup™ shops will play a significant role in  the preparations of the host country. The typical football atmosphere will give  the public a taste of the event, while the official licensed products are a  wonderful form of identification," said the FIFA General Secretary, cheap jerseys for sale.

Merchandising also allows the football fans to get closer to the action and to  express their passion for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™. Thanks to an  innovative licensing programme with EM.TV, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and a  Japanese representative in merchandising, licensing and retail operations, world  football's governing body will, for the first time ever, also be able to reach  fans all around the world with the sale of official 2006 FIFA World Cup  Germany™ licensed products
